The 3 Systems That You Should Focus On If You Want To Make Money In Your Business
We don’t talk about making money very often here. We have talked about it a few times, with a couple of people sharing how you can become a VA, and how you can become a copywriter, and I only share how to organize money and budget. But today, we will be sharing about how these systems will help you bring in the dollars.
I have been working with so many women who are starting with a marketing company, they are starting their own business, they have a blog, podcast, or YouTube channel, and they want to make consistent money from home. They want to sell a thing, they want to provide a service, they start making things. Whatever it looks like, what they really want is to make money. I mean we all want to make money somehow, right?
What Are The 3 Systems to Master Business Consistency and Success?
Thinking back to what pushed me to start these systems, I can remember laying in bed talking to my husband, and creating all of the dreams that we are now doing. Just last week on one of our dates I was told him, “Everything that we are doing right now, was an actual dream, like almost a pipe dream.” I vividly remember thinking if I could just nail down these three systems (that I’m about to tell you), I knew it could be possible. And so today I am taking that spirit, from where I was when I was first starting, and the three systems that I knew that I needed to be successful in by business. Maybe you know that you need these systems, or maybe you don’t know. It doesn’t matter. This whole article is fully dedicated to the very first three systems that you should focus on if you want to make money in your business.

I Was Juggling So Much, And I Know You Are Too
A couple of the systems are for your home and one of them is specifically for your business. All three of these systems are important. I remember showing up to these three so consistently, and I still do. When I was on the airplane and hashing out episode ideas, my friend said to me, “Hey what are the first three systems somebody would need to be able to make money in their business?” There has to be something real and something tangible behind this article, and when I sat down and started to research, I instantly just went with my gut. When my friend questioned me, I was like boom, boom, boom. I went back and surveyed this and it was actually accurate. These three systems are it. I knew that if I could just get these things under control, I could finally figure it out.
In the beginning, I literally remember where I was lying on my bed when my husband and I were having this specific conversation. I can almost remember everything about it. The visions that I had and what I was struggling with at the time and trying to systemize. When I first started this business, I said, THIS. is what I want to share with the world. I did start those three systems, and I stuck it out – like I stuck it out, no matter what. When I committed myself to these three systems that I’m about to share with you, success followed. There is all kinds of heat and passion right now because I am so convicted that if you actually want to make money in your business you have to be consistent. There are people who disagree with that, and I couldn’t disagree with them more. I’m going to stick my flag in the ground and I am going to say that with anything you do you have to be consistent. Sure some people get lucky and that happens. That did not happen to me.
I’ve been blessed beyond fortune. At my graduation in high school, I wanted to read a speech so badly, and I was nowhere near valedictorian, nowhere near it. I was hell-bent to speak, and lo and behold they wanted somebody else to speak at graduation other than the valedictorian, and they opened up a spot for people to come and write a speech and try out. When I auditioned for this thing I knew that opportunity was mine. I absolutely killed it. Man, I wish we had cell phones back then that did the things that they do now because I don’t even know where that size tape is (I’m sure my mother has it somewhere). Everything about that moment is so clear that I could take you back to my high school in the room I auditioned in. I can tell you every single person was sitting around the table. And that is how I remember finding these three systems that you have to have in your life if you want to start making money with your business. System #1: Time Blocking For Successful Time Management
You have to have time blocks in place and not any time blocks that you just scrub off the internet. You need to have my 5 time blocks in place. I am not stingy with what these time blocks are but we’re not gonna talk about them here. The truth is that if you are scheduling yourself with pen and paper, and everything is just all over the place, you’re not going to have enough time and enough bandwidth to be able to support making money. You might have a lot of hustle and you might have a lot of support. You have older kids or may not have kids yet. There are some different circumstances and what I had and what a lot of us. If you have kids that are anywhere close to depending on you, and they have full lives, and your husband has a full life, and you have a full life – it’s not gonna work.
The Magic Of Time Blocks
You have to have time blocks, and the 5 time blocks are so important. I don’t mean like a schedule of I’m going to work here, and then I’m going to do the dishes, and then I’m gonna do the laundry, and then I’m taking the kid a thing, and then I’m going to start that food, and then I’m gonna pack a bag, and then get a bit loaded in the car. That’s a really rigid schedule that will run you ragged in a heartbeat. You need my five-time blocks in place.
Again, not to leave you hanging here, but there’s just so much valuable information about these five-time blocks (especially just by grabbing the workbook). You have to see that system through. This isn’t like “I can do that this weekend”. No. You’ve got to do it pretty consistently, like most of the time. I’m still doing it and when I don’t my life is a train wreck. Seriously.
System #2: Task Management Software
The second system that you need is a task management system. There are a lot of ways that you can spin this. What I need you to know is that these three things build on themselves. The first one that I shared is about your time blocks. So there’s a work block which is the middle block of the day. Sometimes we split that up depending on how old your kids are. What needs to happen is the tasks that you’re doing all day long have to be separated from home and business. I’m specifically talking about a task management system for your business right now.
Let me tell you that within your time blocks, of the five time blocks where the work block is in the middle, the other four that you have left with is when you’re doing all of your tasks for your home life, for personal life, and not your work. We’ve got systems for that, but if you want to get laser-focused on making money – because that’s what this is about – you’ve got to have those five time blocks in place. You’re going to know when your work block is, and when you show up to that work block you’re going to have a task management system in place.
The Task Managment Software I Use
That task management system is what I put inside of Meistertask. If you don’t know what Meistertask is yet I would highly encourage you to go check it out. It is comparable, but far superior, to Trello, Asana, Click-Up, etc. No, it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles, and that is what makes it better. It is by far the #1 tool that you need to be able to use your task management system. The task management system consists of four core workflows. I share about this quite a bit and have had a couple of workshops that talk about workflows. It is a lot of information about what a task management system is, but briefly what you need to know is that this is where you’re going to sit down and execute all of your tasks that are unbelievably important for you to finish this week in your business. That’s it. Then next week, you will probably do most of those again plus a few random ones that came in for that week.
To manage your tasks and your business truly, you need to start figuring out, “What do I need to focus on this week? What do I need to focus on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, or Tuesday and Thursday.” That needs to become a repetition for you to manage your tasks in that work block. If you can do that, you’re going to absolutely blow it out of the water.
System #3: A Content Calendar
The third system that you need is called a content calendar. A content calendar is probably, I don’t know, like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. I was asked a lot about my consistency and posting when I first got started. I was marketing myself regularly with graphics that were not great, but that’s how I learned, and that is how you will learn too. The only way to really begin to understand what your customers want from you is to constantly be putting information out into the world and getting feedback. That’s what marketing is. It’s to sell, convert, get to know, interact, connect, and get engaged. That’s what marketing is for. To get good at gathering that information and receiving feedback, you’re going to do this often. You’re going to do it almost every day, most certainly every single week.
When I say content calendar, you immediately think of Instagram or TickTock. Now that’s a hard pass. Although I do think you should be consistent there, it’s so much more than that.. For me, it was my podcast. It started as a blog. I don’t know what your content platforms are, but there should be a long-form content platform in there. Short form is cool too, however, when we stay committed to these things, it’s pretty time-consuming, especially in the beginning.
What Is a Content Calendar?
A content calendar allows you to know exactly what is going out and when it’s going out. It’s not just like, “What am I going to post? I haven’t posted in three days. I want to post today, but my hands are tied. I’ve got to go to the field trip,I’ve got to do the laundry, and I have all this other stuff to do. I don’t know what I’m going to post today. I don’t know what I’m going to record today and maybe I’ll just skip it once.” And then you end up skipping it twice, three times, four times, and you fell off the wagon. And then you don’t make money. That’s how this all comes back into play.
What I want to emphasize to you is having a content calendar. That is one of those four core workflows that I talk about inside of my task management system. I have my task management system that you can buy here .
