Create A Home That Supports And Nurtures You
Your home should be more than just a place to live—it should be a sanctuary that nurtures your mind, body, and spirit. It can be overwhelming to feel disconnected from the space where you spend most of your time. But with just a few thoughtful adjustments, you can create a space that feels peaceful, joyful, and supportive of your daily rhythms. Today, I’m sharing three simple but powerful ways to transform your home into a space that recharges you, supports your daily routines, and nurtures your family. These aren’t massive renovations or expensive makeovers—just intentional shifts that will help you see (and love) your home in a whole new way.
#1 Create Recharge Spaces Throughout Your Home
Think of the last time you felt truly relaxed in your home. Was it on the couch with a cozy blanket? Sitting with a cup of coffee in the early morning before the kids woke up? Maybe you don’t have a spot like that yet, but that’s exactly where we’re starting today.
I’ve learned that having dedicated recharge spaces around the house makes all the difference. These aren’t just for you—they’re for the whole family. But today, let’s focus on you.
One of my favorite recharge spaces is right next to my bed. It’s my little corner for prayer, journaling, and reflection. I have:
- A soft blanket to curl up in
- My Bible and favorite journals
- A cozy chair or floor cushion
- Soft lighting that makes me want to sit there
It doesn’t take much to create a recharge space. Even if all you have is a small basket with a few essentials, that’s a great place to start. Think about what makes you feel at peace and bring it into your home intentionally.
Another recharge space I’ve created is in our guest room/office. I set it up with extra pillows, a throw blanket, and a stack of my favorite magazines. It’s where I escape when the house feels chaotic and I need to reset.
Quick Tip:
- Walk through your home and identify one spot you can turn into a recharge space.
- Add a blanket, a candle, a journal—anything that invites you to pause and enjoy.
- Keep it simple, but make it yours.

#2 Organize Your High-Traffic Areas
You know those spaces in your home that seem to be in constant motion? The ones that get messy fast because they’re used all the time? Those areas play a huge role in how you feel about your home. When they’re chaotic, your stress levels rise. But when they’re functional? You’ll be amazed at how much smoother your days feel.
For me, one of the biggest game-changers has been organizing my daughter’s closet. Mornings used to be a struggle—finding clothes, getting her dressed, and rushing out the door. But by simplifying her wardrobe and organizing her clothes at her level, she can now get dressed on her own, which makes both of us happier.
The same goes for my makeup area. I have a simple system that makes getting ready in the morning easy:
- My makeup is laid out so I can grab what I need in seconds.
- My hair tools are in a pull-out drawer, ready to go.
- I follow the same routine every morning, so I don’t waste time searching for things.
And let’s talk about the fridge. This is one of the most-used spaces in any home, and when it’s a mess, it’s stressful. I use simple organizers to keep everything in place—prepped snacks, easy-to-grab drinks, and labeled bins so I can find exactly what I need.
Quick Tip
- Choose one high-traffic area in your home that feels cluttered.
- Spend 15 minutes decluttering and organizing it.
- Add small, simple solutions that make life easier (bins, labels, designated spaces).

#3 Remove Toxins & Bring in Natural Elements
This might not be what you expected, but I promise it makes a difference. When you’re intentional about what you bring into your home—from the candles you burn to the cleaning products you use—it changes how your home feels.
One of the first things I did years ago was ditch toxic candles and air fresheners. Instead, I use essential oils. My current favorite? On Guard for immune support and Breathe for fresh, clean air. I keep diffusers running in different rooms, and it instantly makes my home feel more inviting.
I also swapped out conventional laundry detergent for a natural option. My go-to? A toxin-free detergent that smells amazing and actually works. Check out the video above for the one I’m using! Making these simple swaps has helped me create a home that feels healthy, fresh, and comforting.
Quick Tip
- Identify one toxic product in your home to replace (candles, cleaning sprays, detergent).
- Find a natural alternative and make the switch.
- Notice how the energy in your home shifts when you bring in cleaner, healthier products.
